will be reading from Inferno (a poet’s novel) which chronicles the adventures of a young female writer finding her sex and aesthetics in the last decades of the 20th C. Eileen’s books of poems include Not Me, and Sorry, Tree. Her first fiction, Chelsea Girls, appeared in 1994 followed by Cool for You (a nonfiction novel) in 2000. She taught in the writing program at the University of California at San Diego for five years, returning to New York in 2007. Last spring she was the Hugo visiting writer at U.MT, Missoula. Her essays were collected in 2009 in The Importance of Being Iceland for which she won a Warhol/Creative Capital grant.
